Colorwork 101

Stranded colorwork can feel intimidating at first glance----but once you understand the fundamentals, it opens the door to so many fun, colorful projects.

Join us for a beginner-friendly introduction to colorwork knitting.  We'll cover the basics of working with multiple colors at once, plus the skills that make colorwork smoother, neater, and far less stressful than it looks.

You'll get an overview of different colorwork styles, guidance on picking charts that match your comfort level, and hands-on practice with stranded technique.  Working through our class project together, you'll build confidence in chart reading, joining colors in the round, float management, and color dominace---all the foundational skills for any future colorwork project.

This class is also the perfect jumping-off point for our fall colorwork series, since it covers the introductory skills you'll want before diving into more advanced colorwork projects.

Whether you're dreaming of colorful sweaters, hats, or mittens---or just want to finally understand how stranded knitting works ------ this is the place to start.

Class Project: Colorwork Cup Cozy

Skills Participants Must Already Know: Cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.
