Double Knitting

Double knitting has a bit of a reputation --- but we're here to make it click.

Join us for a beginner-friendly introduction to double knitting.  This technique creates a reversible, double-layered fabric by working both sides at once on one set of needles.  With two colors, you'll create a mirrored design on both sides --- and skip the floats entirely.  Yes, really!

We'll break this technique down step by step so it feels approachable, not intimidating.  You'll get comfortable managing two strands, reading charts, and understanding what's actually happening in your stitches ---- all while creating a set of cozy, giftable coasters.

By the end of class, double knitting won't feel like a mystery anymore --- just a technique you know how to do.  And with a finished coaster set in hand, you'll have the perfect little reminder of what you're capable of creating.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Skills Participants Must Already Know: Cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.

Materials Needed (Not Included)

• US 6/ 4.0 mm  24" fixed circular needles
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
• Stitch markers (optional)
