Lite Bright/Extra Lite Bright Sweater Workshop

Join us as we knit the beautiful Lite Bright or Extra Lite Bright sweater together!  Enjoy learning and knitting side by side with class leaders and friends.

Pattern

• Lite Bright-DK weight yarn
• Extra Lite Bright-Fingering weight yarn
• Both patterns include options for short or long sleeves.

Required Skills:

• Knitters who have completed at least one top-down sweater.
• Knitters who have worked in the round.
• Knitters who have worked with basic stranded color work.

Skills You'll Learn:

• Create a beautiful five-color fade.
• Track color changes while working increases.
• Expand your skills of stranded colorwork.
• Plan your sweater for the perfect fit and color placement.
• Know when it's ok to modify a pattern.

Before the First Session and After Registering:

• Schedule a yarn consultation with Susan or Martha.  During this appointment you will plan your color palette using yarn from your stash, new yarn from The Knotty Goat, or a combination of both.  (a 2 skein minimum of KG yarn is required.)
• Purchase the pattern from Ravelry or The Knotty Goat.
• Gather material needed as stated in your pattern.  The Knotty Goat will provide you 4 special stitch markers.
• Before the first class, please knit a guage swatch according to the instructions provided by Martha and Susan.

Workshop Schedule:

• Session One: Friday, September 11, 12:30-2:00 we will:
  • Check and measure gauge.
  • Select the correct size.
  • Finalize color order and fade plan.
  • Review the techniques used in the pattern (increases, colorwork, reading the chart).
  • Answer questions before everyone casts on together.
  • Cast on your sweater, place markers, and begin knitting together.
• Session Two: Friday, September 25, 12:30-2:00
  • Once your sweater is underway, we'll continue knitting together while providing guidance, troubleshooting, and encouragement along the way.

After that Susan and/or Martha will be available for help during shop hours:

• Wednesdays: 11:00-2:00
• Thursdays & Fridays:  11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

When your sweater is finished, we will celebrate your accomplishment and admire your beautiful work at The Knotty Goat!
